Black History Month Celebration and Other School Assemblies
Every February, members of the Carter G. Woodson Society partner with school administrators and faculty to organize events celebrating Black History Month. Moreover, members of the group work alongside school administrators to showcase Black speakers for general school assemblies, centering achievement within the Black experience. Through our Black History Month programming and engagement with other school assemblies, we feature accomplished Black professionals in academia and other fields.

Carter G. Woodson Society Annual Conference
At our annual conferences, members of the Carter G. Woodson Society select a theme that highlights a topic in Black academia or a current event impacting Black America. Scholars, practitioners, business and civic leaders, as well as student leaders serve as panelists and keynote speakers.

Carter G. Woodson Society Buddy Program
The Carter G. Woodson Buddy Program is designed to connect Black high school students at Collegiate with Black middle and elementary school students. Through social activities and engagement, the program provides a sense of comradery, belonging and support for boys across divisions. The Buddy Program also aims to support Black students in their academic and extracurricular pursuits. We hope that through the Buddy Program Black students at Collegiate continue to be strong members of the broader community and continue to grow the Carter G. Woodson Society.

Carter G. Woodson Society Community Service Program
The Carter G. Woodson Society firmly believes in the importance of giving back. As such, each year we select a program to partner with during our “Day of Service”. We invite students throughout the divisions to participate in our “Day of Service”.

Carter G. Woodson Society Student Journal
Each year the Carter G. Woodson Society Student Journal selects a theme about which students and alumni submit journal articles and other academic writings.
